OFF HIS FACE

Mixed up college boy could be right for me but I hate his drug taking

DEAR DEIDRE: I HAVE met a boy at sixth-form college who is very sweet and funny.

He’s 18, I’m 17. He is on my course but we’re all at home now so we are doing all our chatting on FaceTime.

I have tried to convince him to give up taking drugs

I’ve discovered he does drugs.

It wasn’t obvious when we mostly saw one another at college but we now do most of our talking in the evenings and he’s often off his face.

I told him how upset I was about this as I think drugs are very wrong.

He’s now said it’s not my business as we are not in a relationship.

But I am his friend and I’m worried about him.

I don’t know what to do.

DEIDRE SAYS: You may really like this boy a lot but you can’t sort his problem out for him.

He has given you a clear message that he is going to reject your concern and values.

Check out the helpful information for those worried about drug-using friends on talktofrank.com.

You don’t have to block him but for your own sake focus on other friends, even if only online for now.
