Phone sex has soared in lockdown with Sheffield and Belfast the horniest cities – but how does your local town tally up?
SOCIAL distancing has made it impossible for singletons to hook up - but, just like virtual dating, randy Brits have adapted.
A new survey has revealed that phone sex has soared during lockdown, with Sheffield and Belfast revealed as the horniest UK cities.
The research - conducted by Vivastreet - has showed that those talking dirty down their mobiles has increased nationally by a whopping 23% compared to before lockdown.
However, the jump was more pronounced in certain areas over others, with Sheffield and Belfast seeing a 52% and 54% boost respectively.
Just behind them were Liverpool (49%), Cardiff (40%) and Cambridge (40%).
In contrast, London (21%), Newcastle (14%), Manchester (11%), Brighton (11%) and Norwich (10%) have experienced much less of an upwards change.
Interestingly, Edinburgh was the only city to show a decline in people engaging in phone sex.
More specifically, there was a 10% decrease in the Scottish city compared to before lockdown.
The overall UK-wide trend has been of little surprise to experts who note that it's an easy way for sexually-frustrated Brits to satisfy their desires.
Carol Queen, staff sexologist at Good Vibrations, said: "Phone sex is really an evergreen erotic experience and a kink that most people can easily try.

"People being separated from one another only makes it more useful, significant, reassuring – and sexy.
"It allows you to stay erotically connected no matter where you are."
Likewise, Kate Moyle - a psychosexual and relationship therapist and psycho-sexologist - agreed: “Text and WhatsApp is a great way to flirt and build anticipation – sexual anticipation being one of the most natural aphrodisiacs that we have.”
