The couple is asking for donations for their 'traditional and modern' wedding, and they also laid out their plans for a honeymoon in either Peru, Dubai, Japan, Turkey or Egypt.

Luckily the gracious couple weren’t picky, saying any of those locations would do.

And they weren’t just asking for money for nothing either, as the couple promised to send well-wishers some original songs as a thank-you.

Their post was shared to Reddit, which said: “We are planning our wedding to take place in September.

“Unfortunately we are both fighting chronic illness and try to stay above water during the Covid-19 crisis.

“This wedding is supposed to be all traditional / modern wedding but our dreams have been narrowed down because of our chronic illness and medical costs.”

The message starts off sounding sincere, but then the couple bring up their honeymoon plans.

They added: “We also have dreams for our honeymoon with locations like: Peru, Dubai, Turkey, Egypt and Japan.

“If only we could do 1 of those locations we would see this as our dream fulfilled.

“You could make the difference in helping us fulfil that dream. “If you can afford to donate anything it would mean the world to us!

“[Since] I am a musician at heart I can give in return some of my latest tracks for you to enjoy.”

The couple’s plea for cash for their idyllic honeymoon has been branded as ‘tacky', as multiple brides claimed they went without one to save money.

Commenting online, one person said: “Wow I’d like to go to those places too! Where’s my money?

"This would be tacky any time but especially now.”

Another wrote: “People who think they DESERVE a nice wedding or honeymoon are deluded.”

A third thought: “I would consider donating money to a friend for their wedding. They are on their own for the honeymoon though, especially an international destination.”

And this bride-to-be stunned by guest’s ‘rude’ RSVP – but some think he was in the right.
