Happy Valley tips: Your betting preview from Templegate as Happy Valley races on in Hong Kong on Wednesday
HAPPY VALLEY
Race 1 - 11.45
THE ABRAXAS has been going close in better races than this but has been unlucky with the stall ten draw. If Joao Moreira can live up to his “Magic Man” nickname and get him over, he could pull it off.
Great Son won on the nod here last time and should be competitive again despite a slight weight hike.
Jimson The Dragon was a solid third at Sha Tin last time from a poor draw and is in a better stall this time.
Race 2 - 12.15
Zac Purton takes over on SUMSTREETSUMWHERE after he finished a solid third over course and distance last time out. He stays in the same grade today so should be right there again.
Electric Lightning battled well to score here three weeks ago and should be competitive again over his favourite trip.
Roman Impero goes well over this trip and ran on well into fourth on his last run at the track. He won’t be far away, while Charity Wings is a recent winner in this grade and can figure despite a hike up the handicap.

Race 3 - 12.45
FOX CHEUNGER is consistent and was two lengths away over course and distance last time. He was an easy winner on his previous run at the Valley and should be on the premises again.
Exponents was a close second on the sand at Sha Tin last time and likes this trip. He will be in the mix again.
Show Mission went down in a photo here latest and is capable over this distance.

Race 4 - 1.15
COMPASSION SPIRIT has been hiked up the weights but with good reason after winning here last time. He could have been luckier with the draw but is capable of putting on another good show.
Thou Shall Sing went down in a photo at Sha Tin after a good win there over this trip. He is handicapped for another solid effort.
Happy Tango was a short-head away from winning a similar race to this last time and is another to note.
Happy Winner was just behind in that contest and can figure once more.
Race 5 - 1.45
WE THE SOUTH has few miles on the clock and got off the mark well over course and distance 21 days ago. His stall nine draw could be better but he’ll be right there.
Winning Ways has Moreira on board and he won at this level earlier in the year. He wasn’t far away last time.
Daily Delight was just behind the tip here latest and he could make the most of his stall four berth. This is just his second spin around the Valley.
Prawn Yeah Yeah won well at Sha Tin but goes up in grade here.
LATEST IN RACING
Race 6 - 2.15
SMART LEADER was beaten in a bunch finish here two runs ago before meeting trouble in running last time out. He has worked well on the track since then and this looks a poor race for the grade.
Jumbo Happiness won here in March and wasn’t disgraced when fifth last time. Neil Callan’s won on him before.
Beauty Amigo has a tough draw but won in this class two runs ago and relishes this distance.
Big Fortune was beaten less than two lengths here latest and is overdue a win.

Race 7 - 2.45
VICTORIAM has been in fine form at Sha Tin where he won two starts ago with plenty in hand. He has a couple of places at the Valley and is proven in this grade. He can give Zac Purton another winner.
Harmony Spirit won at Ascot for William Haggas last summer and is getting the hang of things in Hong Kong. He doesn’t need a lot more to figure.
Shamport just failed on his hat-trick bid here last time. His strong track record, with three victories, means he can’t be ignored.
Race 8 - 3.15
WORLD FAMOUS has been running at the highest level and should find this a lot easier than the Hong Kong Derby he contested last time. He is a regular winner in this class and is on a fair mark despite lumping top weight.
Cinquante Cinq has two wins and six places from 10 runs at the Valley and is interesting on this step up in distance under the champ.
Acclaimed Light dug deep to win over a mile here latest but is just as happy with this slightly stiffer stamina test.

Race 9 - 3.50
DELIGHTFUL LAOS was an impressive winner on his Hong Kong debut having shipped in from Ireland. He had plenty in hand crossing the line and you would expect improvement as it was his first run of the season.
Tangmere is gunning for a hat-trick after a pair of success at this trip and track. He goes up in grade here but looks ready for that.
Best Alliance was right in the mix when fourth here latest and is another who relishes this distance. He could hit the places at long odds, while Happy Warrior scored nicely in a lesser race last time.
