One of my pals is a proper stats guru and he tells me Godolphin’s gaffer has a 34 percent strike rate with his newcomers.

And cheerful Charlie hammered the point home when Creative Force bolted-up at Newmarket on Thursday.

So, follow those Appleby newcomers and stick the `top ten’ two-year-olds listed below in your notebook.

Giorgio Vasari - Aidan O’Brien

Is bred to be a flying machine and the Coolmore camp reckon he’s cut from the same jib as his razor-sharp half-brother Sioux Nation.
He’s pencilled in for Royal Ascot and could be a bit special.

Noman - Hugo Palmer

Looks the business and has had his well-heeled trainer drooling since the spring.

He’s a 6/7f horse so expect fireworks in the second half of the season.
