Several Premier League stars have voiced fears about plans for the remaining 92 matches to be played starting next month.

Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling, Bournemough defender Tyrone Mings and on-loan Newcastle full back Danny Rose worry about Project Restart.

But Adrian said: "We are not afraid to play again, although we know it is risky.

“We are training again at Melwood, we are footballers and want to work again, but minimizing the risk, of course."

NO FAIL-SAFE SYSTEM

The Government has declared no professional sport can be played before June 1 at the earliest but wants it back to boost national morale.

Outspoken Rose said: “f**k morale, people’s lives are at risk.”

Sterling is concerned about the risk of infection for players and officials at games even though no fans will be present.

Premier League clubs are slowly bringing players into training from lockdown at home with a view to finally seeing out the season.

But there is still much debate about testing players for coronavirus, cross-infection when teams meet up, safety when players come into close contact in games and worries about spreading the disease to members of their families.

There have even been calls to disinfect pitches and balls but no system is seen as fail-safe.

Leaders Liverpool need only two more wins from their last nine games to secure a first Premier League title.

Adrian is working mainly from home and being coached by his father.

He said: "I am a keeper and I don't really need to go to Melwood. I train at home, in my garden, and my father is acting as my assistant.

"At 33, it is the first time I am training with my dad: he throws balls at me and helps me. He is learning a lot and I am sure he will eventually get his licence.”
