A remake of the 1984 Wes Craven cult film that spawned the famous franchise, it's not as good as the original but still well worth a watch with plenty of jumpy moments and hide-behind-your-cushion scenes.

It follows the same storyline as its predecessor, but goes to a darker level making the murderous Freddy Kruger a child molester and using CGI to create the monster's appearance to be closer to that of a burn victim.

Wes wasn't happy about not being consulted on the film but Robert Englund, who portrayed Freddy in the previous eight films, voiced his support of the remake.

This 2017 French-language Canadian horror film is set in a small town in rural Quebec, and follows a small group of survivors as they deal with an outbreak that lead to zombies.

There are lots of twists and turns as the group realise what's about to happen. Add to that plenty of undead children intent on eating you and you've got yourself a great zombie film.

The Spanish original, directed by Paco Plaza, tells the story of a young girl called Veronica and her siblings who try and summon their dead father's spirit using a Ouija board.

However, things take a dark turn when Veronica passes out during the ritual. From that moment on she starts to notice supernatural and spooky goings on that escalate over a three day period.

Stranger Things' Joe Keery is unrecognisable as the social media fame hungry serial killer in Spree.

Keery plays Kurt Kunkle a social media obsessed ride share driver who kills his passengers with poisoned water.

Kunkle will stop at nothing to go viral in this fictional film - which is no out of the realm of possibility.

His shot at fame is cruelly stolen from him, relegating Kunkle to a forgotten corner of the internet.

Do not be surprised if Keery picks up a swag of awards for his performance in Spree.

It's the first Netflix horror released by Mike Flanagan - who has become somewhat iconic thanks to The Haunting of Hill House.

It's better than it's reputation may have you believe, and is certain to have you scared if you've got a fear of nightmares.

The story follows an eight-year-old boy called Cody, played by Jacob Tremblay, whose fear of going to sleep and dreaming is more than just child's play.

When he's adopted by Mark and Jessie, they are startled to find their dead biological son in their living room, brought to life by Cody's dreams.

Released in 2019, this grisly film sees wrestler C.M Punk portray a soon-to-be dad renovating one creepy looking house that is full of, well, bad things.

While it'll also have you laughing, you'll need a pillow to hide behind as the brutal film sees the house fighting back against the family, physically and mentally.

If black goop pouring out of pipes and human organs in the walls isn't enough to creep you out - a demonic, faceless woman will do the trick.

Directed by horror actor Anthony Perkins, who played Norman Bates in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, directs this creepy film about a boarding school.

As you might expect, things don't go according to plan, but it makes for a fun watch with plenty of action to keep you entertained.

This Spanish science-fiction horror is set in a large, tower-style "Vertical Self-Management Center".

Residents are switched every 30 days between its many floors, with food being dispensed on a platform at the top.

Such a system leads to conflict, as the residents on the top floor get to eat as much as they can, before each subsequent floor gets the ever decreasing leftovers from the floor above.

This post-apocalyptic zombie film stars Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin.

It follows a geeky college kid who is making his way through the zombie apocalypse before meeting three strangers who then all join forces in a bid to find a zombie-free sanctuary.

With plenty of laughs and action, the film spawned a sequel, 2019's Zombieland: Double Tap.

The mother must confront the spirits to save herself and her daughter.

But in true horror fashion, they don't know their last hope for a vaccine is hiding a dark secret which threatens all of them.
