HARRY Redknapp revealed that he has no sense of smell and placed himself on permanent dunny duty in last night's episode of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!.

The football manager was happy to clear out the camp's toilet - insisting that it isn't an issue for him as he can't smell the contents.

John Barrowman initiated the talk of who would clean the dunny at his camp, Croc Creek, reading through the instructions on what to do with his fellow campmates.

Harry said: "It's not a problem for me, I'll go and do it. I've got no sense of smell, I can't smell anything.

"Clearing the dunny out is the easiest job in the world for me."

John went with Harry for the first changeover, later telling the Bush Telegraph: "Harry doesn't have any sense of smell, so Harry is the perfect one to do the dunny - just don't look in!"

However, the actor later told the rest of the camp that they can't make the 71-year-old star clean the dunny "all the time" - which Harry protested.

He insisted: "Listen, I am happy to do it because I am no use with the cooking - that'll be my job.

"Harry the s*** shoveller."

The star was in Italy to watch the FIFA World Cup when the car he was travelling in was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle, which was carrying three Italian soldiers.

The crash killed Harry's fellow passenger, Aston Villa chairman and Bournemouth's managing director Brian Tiler, as well as all three of the soldiers.

Thankfully, the star was pulled from the vehicle but presumed dead at the scene.

He was flown home to the UK by air ambulance two days later, suffering a fractured skull, broken nose, cracked ribs, and a gash in his left leg.

Harry went on to make a full recovery - aside from his loss of smell and gaining a facial tic.

During last night's I'm A Celeb launch, Harry also opened up about accidentally running over his wife, Sandra.

Reflecting in the middle of a driving task, he shared: "I used to think I was a good driver but I had a nightmare and ran over my wife one day.

"She got out the car and I thought she’d crossed the road and I pulled forward and she fell into the road and a bus stopped literally yards away and the most amazing part of the story probably, my grand-daughter is sitting on top of the bus and sees all of this.

"Unreal."

Harry married Sandra in 1967 and the pair have two sons together, footballer-turned-pundit Jamie, and model Mark.

This is not the first time that the star has discussed the freak accident, previously admitting that he "thought he'd lost" his wife during an appearance on Good Morning Britain.
