Daisy, 21, plays Marianne Sheridan, one half of a beautiful love story with Paul Mescal's character Connell Waldron, reveals that they have more clothes when filming the racy scenes than you might think.

Daisy appeared on Elizabeth Day’s How To Fail podcast, and opened up on the help they get from sex coordinator Ita O’Brien and the process behind shooting the intimate scenes.

She explained: "Ita would make sure Paul and I would discuss the boundaries and what we were and weren't comfortable with.

"We also agreed on touch and would say, 'this area is fine but please stay off this area,' or, 'I don’t feel comfortable with this.'”

The star went on to describe the emotional aspects of the sex scenes, adding: "There was always a purpose to those scenes, for example, Connell and Marianne’s first time is about Marianne being made to feel safe by Connell and I just love the idea that she asks for protection as I have never seen that in scenes."

The former Cold Feet star stated that they stripped for the wider shots and for the rest of the time she had her clothes on.

Daisy revealed: "Depending on what shots they were filming we were allowed to wear modesty gear so for a large amount of it we were fully clothed.

"Then for the wide shot we would make sure we felt comfortable and there was enough protection as possible and then yeah, from action to cut we were able to freestyle knowing what the boundaries were and we were able to act the scene."
