BARRY Elliot, one half of the famous TV duo, The Chuckle Brothers, passed away aged 73 in August 2018, leaving behind not just his brother and co-star, Paul, but also his wife, Ann.

Reports revealed Barry was surrounded by his nearest and dearest when he passed, and here we take a look at his family life.

Who was Barry married to?

Barry Elliott, affectionately known as Barry Chuckle, was married to a woman named Ann.

The pair were married for more than 45 years.

It is unknown if they had any children.

Who is Barry Chuckle's entertainment partner Paul?

Brothers Barry and Paul made up the children's entertainment duo 'The Chuckle Brothers'.

The pair worked together for more than 50 years.

The brothers are originally from Rotherham and were introduced to the stage at a young age by their father, James Elliott.

He went by the stage name Gene Patton and worked the London club scene, even performing with an 18-year-old Peter Sellers in 1943.

The duo also have two older brothers Jimmy and Brian who are known collectively as the Patton Brothers and have starred alongside their siblings in their show ChuckleVision.

How did Barry die?

Barry Chuckle's death was announced on August 5, 2018.

Barry lived in Rotheram with his wife Ann, and following a bout of ill health, he followed doctor's orders and cancelled all his work for this summer.

His brother Paul said: "I've not just lost my brother, I've lost my theatrical partner of many, many years and my very best friend."

Manager Phil Dale added in a statement: "It is with great sadness that the family announce that Barry passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife Ann and all his family.

"The family would like to express their thanks to the many people who have been fans of the Chuckle Brothers and they know that they will share in part the great, great loss they feel."
