Another tweeted: "I’m watching #eastenders for the first time in ages and it’s turned into a horror movie!"

A third wrote: "OMG with the Whitney story and the Gray and Chantelle storyline, this episode is like a horror film."

While a fourth asked: "Honestly wtf is this episode, it’s like we’re in a horror movie."

The lack of food and drink began take its toll on Whit last night as she started hearing the voice of her abuser in her head.

The troubled stall owner, who is in prison after killing crazed stalker Leo, was baffled when she began to see a younger version of herself.

"I wish I could be me again, back when I was 12," she said.

"You told me I was beautiful when I was 12, a special sort, I made him whole again, that's what he said."

The dazed prisoner insisted: "You're not special, you're nothing. He's a grown man, you're a child. How can that be love?"

Tony's voice continued to haunt her, as he said creepily: "Whit, my special little girl..."

"Don't listen to him," as she tried to plead with her young self in heartbreaking scenes.

Whit's living nightmare wasn't the only tear-jerking storyline on screen last night, as Chantelle was brutally by husband Gray yet again.

The lawyer was left furious when his wife's dad Mitch found out he had lost his job and accused his wife of letting the cat out of the bag.

After a conversation in the Queen Vic, the barber admitted that he knows everything and even offered Gray some money, which left him fuming.

Gray returned home and lost it with his wife yet again, believing that she told her dad, and brutally beat her up.
