Who is Daniel Mays?
Daniel Mays was born on March 31, 1978, in Epping, Essex, and is an English actor.
The son of an electrician and bank teller, he had a sporty childhood growing up in Buckhurst Hill, Essex, with his three brothers.
At 13 Daniel enrolled at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts before going on to win a place at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
He has enjoyed roles in several high profile films and television series, and played Sargent Danny Waldron in Line of Duty.
What else has Daniel Mays starred in?
After graduating Rada in 2000, Daniel has enjoyed many TV roles.
His most high profile to date was starring in the third series of BBC's highly acclaimed Line of Duty.
He played the lead role in Channel 4's Born to Kill and won the role of Peter Wildeblood, in the BBC's Against the Law.
Daniel has also appeared in EastEnders, Plus One, Ashes to Ashes and Outcasts.
He was back on our screens in Mother's Day, which told the story of the IRA bombing in Warrington.
He also took on Channel 4 crime drama The Interrogation, playing a DC Peters.
In 2020 he played Detective Chief Inspector Peter Jay in Des.
Is Daniel Mays married and does he have any children?
Daniel wed his long-term partner and make-up artist Louise Burton on August 25, 2018.
The actor shared a snap on social media celebrating the big day.
He wrote: "Got hitched on Saturday! With deep love and thanks to everyone who came to celebrate our magical day. Memories to last a lifetime."
The couple has two children, Mylo and Dixie.
