EastEnders fans are convinced number 23A is CURSED after seven characters die there and Keegan and Tiffany are evicted
EASTENDERS fans are convinced flat 23a is cursed after seven characters die there and Keegan and Tiffany are evicted.
Pointing out that the property has had its fair share of drama over the years.
Viewers were left reeling as married couple Keegan Baker and Tiffany Butcher were evicted from their home on Albert Square.
It came as the pair had struggled through relationship problems and Keegan's wrongful arrest for criminal damage.
The latest twist in bad luck for the pair came after Keegan's food truck was vandalised.
But viewers of the popular BBC soap have pointed out that maybe their problems are down to the actual property they lived in.
One asked: "Is No. 23 the most cursed building in EE?"
It was then mentioned that a massive SEVEN characters had met their fate in the flat.
They were listed as Reg Cox, Hassan Osman, Trevor Morgan, Tom Banks, Nick Cotton, Joyce Murray and Dinah Wilson.
Reg Cox, played by Johnnie Clayton, was the first ever death on the Square and in the soap, with it forming the subject of the very first episode in 1985.
He was discovered dying by Den Watts, Ali Osman and Arthur Fowler after they broke into the flat out of concern.
It was later revealed that he was killed by show villain Nick Cotton for his war medals.
Later that year, baby Hassan Osman - the first son of Ali and Sue Osman - died from cot death.
In the following episodes viewers watched as Sue struggled to come to terms with her child's passing, blaming herself for his sudden death.
Eventually it was Dr Legg who helped her come to terms with the upsetting event.
The third and fourth deaths to be recorded were that of Trevor Morgan (Alex Ferns) and Tom Banks (Colm Ó Maonla).
Wife beater Trevor was one of the more memorable characters on the soap after he spent years terrorising Little Mo.
Things came to a head when he returned with a petrol can to hold her hostage.
The resulting blaze in 2002 killed both Trevor and Sharon Watts' fiance Tom, who also happened to be a fire fighter.
In a clever twist, years after causing the death of Reg Cox, everyone's favourite bad man Nick Cotton (John Altman) died in the almost same spot.
In 2015 he died from a heroine overdose in his mother Dot's arms, not before confessing to Reg's murder.
Dot, who supplied Nick with the drugs which caused his death, is later imprisoned for 14 months for manslaughter but is released after four months.
In March 2018 came the passing of Joyce Murray (Maggie Steed).
Married to Ted since she was 21, Joyce died from a cardiac arrest in her bed and was found by her husband after he returned home late following an argument.
Dinah Wilson (Anjela Lauren Smith) was only on the show for a few months in 2019.
Her character was the former girlfriend of Mitch Baker and mum to his daughter Bailey Baker.
Suffering from multiple sclerosis, as the storyline unfolds viewers see that Dinah is ultimately being looked after by her young daughter.
Dinah takes the decision to end her own life and her body is discovered by Mitch.
