It follows the government easing restrictions on homeware retailers and garden centres.

The furniture retailer will have safety measures in place in its newly reopened stores - including every customer having their temperature checked before they enter stores.

Customers will also be asked to sanitise their hands before they start shopping.

Inside, there will be directional markers on the floor of stores to remind people to stay two metres apart.

Furniture Village announced it was temporarily closing all its stores on March 25 due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Currently, customers are able to order from the furniture chain's website as it offers a no-contact delivery service.

Home deliveries were temporarily stopped during the first five weeks of lockdown - but this service is now running again.

Delivery charges start from £10 for furniture accessories, going up to £60.

But it isn't the first homeware retailer to reopen its doors - Dunelm announced yesterday that it has reopened 39 sites.

DFS will also be reopening three showrooms tomorrow.

Charlie Harrison, commercial director at Furniture Village, said: “We are delighted to be officially re-opening all Furniture Village stores this week in line with the latest government guidance.

“We are immensely proud of our teams who have been working tirelessly to get everything ready, and the feedback from customers who have visited stores so far has been incredible.
