Sainsbury’s opening times: What time does the supermarket open today? Hours and online delivery advice 2021

SAINSBURY'S stores are open seven days a week and you can get online deliveries almost round the clock. 

Shoppers no longer have to adhere to Covid restrictions, but it's still worth knowing when your nearest store is open and the best times to go.

Here's what you need to know about Sainsbury's opening hours, including how to check your local supermarket's opening and closing times.

What time do Sainsbury’s branches open and close?

Most of Sainsbury's supermarket branches open their doors from 7am on weekdays and Saturday.

They close their doors again late in the night, at around 10pm or 11pm depending.

Opening and closing times for the supermarket are usually shorter on a Sunday though, typically from around 10am to 4pm.

But these opening hours can vary between stores.

When is the best time to shop at Sainsbury’s?

Google has a handy tool which lets you to see the peak times for any supermarket or shop.

If you search for “Sainsbury's” and then click on your nearest store, you'll see a bar chart showing when the store’s busiest (and quietest) times are, as well as how busy it is at that moment in time.

Can I order from Sainsbury's online for delivery and how much does it cost?

You can shop online with Sainsbury's and deliveries are available seven days a week.

Sainsbury's charges £7 for standard delivery on orders under £40 and between £1 and £4.50 for orders worth more, depending on the day and time slot.

There's a minimum order value of £25.

Delivery passes are also available which can help save money when ordering regularly and give you views of slots further in advance

You just have to check that Sainsbury's can deliver to you postcode which you can do with the Sainsbury's postcode checker tool.

There's also an option on some locations to order from Sainsbury's for same-day delivery.

In some areas you can use an app called Sainsbury's Chop Chop to buy up to 25 items and get them delivered in under an hour.

You need to spend a minimum of £15 and delivery costs £4.99.

You can also buy your shopping from Sainsbury's through Deliveroo and Uber Eats.

The cost of delivery can depend on where you are and what time you order, but you'll generally pay a fee of a couple of pounds for delivery and under a £1 for service.

What about click and collect at Sainsbury's?

Sainsbury's offers a click and collect service, where you order online and pick up your shopping in store.

It costs 50p if you spend more than £25, otherwise it's £4.
