The fruit picker was walking home from work on Monday night when the group ambushed him and later posted footage of the attack on social media.

Karol, 37, was rushed to hospital after suffering a fractured cheek and severe bruising to his face and legs in the horrific attack.

He told The Sun Online he was lucky he wasn't killed in the attack and is worried the thugs may have infected him with coronavirus after repeatedly spitting on him.

He said: "After what happened I am lucky to be alive."

His father Andrzej Machnowski added: "He was attacked by sick b******s. They kicked and spat on my son and now they could have given him coronavirus.

"We want him to get a coronavirus test now and we think the police should have given him one already if he had people spitting on him.

"They could have killed our son. We are in shock but we are happy he still alive."

FOUR ARRESTED

Video shared on social media just hours after the attack shows Karol being repeatedly kicked in the heads as one of the thugs brags "this is easy".

Karol had his wallet and mobile phone stolen as the louts picked his pockets while he lay dazed on the ground.

Another boy was filmed joking “how is he alive?” as Karol lay stricken on the floor being kicked in the attack.

A heartless girl filming the attack added: “Don’t do anything else because I’ll turn my camera off a minute.”
