My Students

Third Grade is a year of amazing growth for students. Students work diligently on learning their multiplication facts, writing detailed stories, and working on reading skills. All of this could not be possible without the support of community members and parents.

My class of 21 students is filled with many different personalities and backgrounds.

I have students of different cultures, as well as different beliefs. Our school is made up of almost 400 students (25% which are free/reduced) who try to embody our 3 major school rules of being respectful, responsible, and safe. Every day, teachers encourage students to dream, believe, think, and achieve.

My Project

My students really need six wireless bluetooth keyboards to use to work on their typing on their iPads. Our state has moved to online standardized testing, and these eight and nine year old's are expected to write an essay and then type it. With only two Chromebook cart times per week, this is not enough practice time in typing for my students.

My students are already nervous about taking state testing for the first time.

Add in the nerves of having to type an entire essay, and it is a lot for these third graders to handle. Having these keyboards will allow them to practice their typing with their writing throughout the school year, so that by the time testing comes around it will be a second nature to them.
