Brother, 7-year-old sister killed as truck crashes down steep ravine

RENTON, Wash. - A man and a young girl were killed Saturday morning when their pickup truck went down a steep ravine in Renton.

Authorities have not released the man or the girl's identity but say they were brother and sister.

The man was 20 years old, David Leibman with the Renton Police Department said. His sister was 7.

The accident happened around 9 a.m. on Royal Hills Drive Southeast. The man was driving a Dodge pickup truck. Both the man and his sister has been thrown from the truck, authorities said.

Preliminary information indicates that speed was likely a factor, Leibman said. No one else was hurt and no other cars were involved.

Detectives continue to investigate. Additional details have not been released.
