Uber now lets you pay for rides with Venmo

You can already pay for Uber trips using your PayPal balance, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Uber is now adding the same option for Venmo, which is owned by PayPal. Both Uber and Uber Eats customers will be able to cover their rides (or food deliveries) through Venmo. Like PayPal, everything is handled directly in the Uber app — unless you want to split a trip with friends, in which case you’ll have to hop out to the Venmo app.

On the plus side, that makes splitting a little more familiar and easy to manage. Venmo has also added custom Uber emoji for the description field in case you want to share those payments in your feed for some reason. The option to use Venmo for Uber payments will be rolling out in the US “in the coming weeks.”
