    Tech giants face $10m fines in new cyber security laws

    Telcos, internet companies and device manufacturers that refuse to facilitate access to secret data for terrorism investigations face fines of up to $10 million, under new laws to be revealed on Tuesday.

    Cyber Security Minister Angus Taylor has confirmed the new laws will not force companies to incorporate "backdoors" allowing agencies to crack encrypted communications.
