Pokémon team’s next game is a monster RPG called Town

Town. It’s just called Town.

Game Freak, the developer of the mainline Pokémon franchise, is working on a new Nintendo Switch game: Town, out sometime in 2019.

Nintendo first showed off footage from the turn-based role-playing game during today’s Direct presentation. Town takes place in a town that looks like any ordinary town — a small town, even a peaceful town. You may think this is a run-of-the-mill RPG ... except that there are tons of monsters attacking Town’s town. And these are not the kinds of monsters Game Freak is best known for; they’re not pocket-sized. They’re huge.

What else can we say about Town? Not much yet, although this is Game Freak’s first Nintendo console game in quite some time. The company has also developed several non-Pokémon games before, including those like Drill Dozer for Game Boy Advance, HarmoKnight and Pocket Card Jockey for Nintendo 3DS, and Tembo the Badass Elephant for Windows PC and PlayStation 3.

The next level of puzzles.
