Pandora’s subscription music service, Pandora Premium, is now available on Google Home speakers and other audio devices with Google Assistant. It’s yet another source for on-demand, voice-controlled music playback that joins Google Play Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, and Deezer Premium. Pandora says it has seen a 50 percent uptick in usage on “voice-activated devices” in the last year.

Once you’ve set Pandora Premium as your default music service in Google Home’s settings, you’ll be able to request specific songs, albums. or playlists by voice. Google’ full range of speakers — the Home Max, Home, and Home Mini — are all able to play music through your preferred service (assuming it’s not Apple Music or Tidal).

Pandora Premium is compatible with some of Google Home’s most convenient features; for example, you can ask Google to play a track by speaking some of the lyrics aloud. You can also thumbs up or thumbs down the currently playing song (or create a new station based on it) with voice commands, and Pandora’s curated featured playlists and personalized, mood-based selections (focus, happy, chill, energy, rainy day, etc.)
