Scott Morrison has attempted to thaw relations with China, shaking hands and spending time with Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Osaka.

The Prime Minister yesterday spent five minutes with the Chinese President in what he described as a “positive” interaction as trade tensions between the US and Beijing loomed large, with Australia caught in the middle.
