Top Tech Deals

It’s not often that Amazon features a laptop as one of its deals of the day, so anyone who uses a desktop at home or work should definitely check out this pair of refurbished Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga for their portable computing needs.

Though these laptop run Windows 10, its prices are pretty similar to a lot of Chromebooks, though its capabilities far exceed what you’d find in most of Google’s alternatives. The real highlight feature though is its IPS touchscreen. Sure, at 11.6", and 1366x768 resolution, this might not be your main computer. But since it’s a Yoga, you can flip it into all sorts of different poses. Need to carry it around? Turn it into a tablet. Finished working on a plane, and just want to watch a movie? Flip it into stand mode to get the keyboard out of the way.

Two different models are available, one with 4GB of RAM and Windows 10 Home for $189, and another with 8GB of RAM and Windows 10 Professional for $227. My advice? It’s worth ponying up for the higher end model.

They also come with old school 320GB spinning hard drives, but you can always swap in an SSD yourself later.

Are they amazing laptops? No. But for around $200, they’re a really solid deal. Just note that this price is only available today, and it could very well sell out early.

If you love inky blacks and vibrant colors—and who doesn’t?—this 2017 OLED LG TV is down to $1600 today on MassDrop, or $2600 for 65", both at least $400 less than what Amazon’s charging

As you’d expect from any high-end TV these days, that gets you a 4K panel and Dolby Vision HDR, but OLED technology means the blacks will be far richer, and the colors more vibrant than any LCD-based screen you can buy. It’ll still cost you, but your eyes will tell you it was worth it.

If you still haven’t tried out a home theater bias light, there’s never been a better time to pick one up.

Vansky’s LED bias light strips plug directly into your TV’s USB port for power, and stick to the back of the set via built-in adhesive. Once you turn your TV on, the LEDs cast a soft glow on the wall behind them, which can reduce eyestrain when watching in the dark, and improve your TV’s perceived black levels.

You can choose from an RGB or plain white strip today on Amazon for $12 or less, and if that’s too long for your TV, you can actually cut it to length.

This inexpensive sound bar probably isn’t ideal for your main home theater; it’s only two channels, and doesn’t have a subwoofer, but it would be a massive upgrade for, say, a kitchen or bedroom where you’re still using your TV’s built-in speakers. It’s also wall-mountable, and will even work as a big, loud Bluetooth speaker for your phone.

Netgear’s new Arlo home security system is a lot like Nest Cam, except the cameras can run off battery power, so you really can stick them anywhere. If that sounds like something you’re looking for, Amazon will sell you a refurbished 5-camera starter kit for $360.

For context, this refurb kit usually costs $430, and the equivalent new set is a whopping $550, so I’m comfortable calling this the best deal we’ve ever seen on Arlo cameras.

Note 10/13 - This deal ends tomorrow.

Other than a 2-pack discount, we’ve never seen a deal on Amazon’s Echo Show, until today.

Get the touchscreen-equipped Alexa device for $200 right now, down from its original $230. You can read Gizmodo’s review if you want to learn more, but it turns out Alexa would have benefitted from a visual component all along

The Echo Dot is also $5 off, if you want to spread Alexa all around your house.

Yi, manufacturer of your favorite affordable action cam, also makes a home IP security camera, and you can pick it up for just $29 today with promo code UHF4D4MN, the best deal we’ve ever seen.

The Yi Home Camera includes all the basic features you’d expect, including two-way audio, automatic activity alerts to your phone, and remote monitoring. And while Yi does offer a paid cloud DVR service, you can also opt to store your files on an onboard microSD card, no membership required. Even if you go this route though, you’ll still be able to tune in live from anywhere in the world.

Sennheiser’s HD 650 open back headphones are widely considered some of the best-sounding cans you can buy for under $1000, and the best chance to get them is when MassDrop drops a new shipment of the legendary HD 6XX.

The 6XX is basically exactly the same as the 650, but with a 6' cable rather than the original’s 10', which is actually a better length, in my opinion. The 650s are currently listed for $315 on Amazon, and have never been cheaper than $287, but MassDrop has a limited number units of the 6XX available for $200, while supplies last.

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 is right in the Goldilocks zone of price and performance, and you can pick up a Gigabyte card with a whopping 8GB of GDDR5 RAM for $400 on MassDrop right now. That’s the best price we’ve ever seen, and $35 less than Amazon, which means you’ll have more money left over for games.

Nonda’s original Zus smart car charger was a one-of-a-kind device with two very poorly-placed USB ports, but the newly redesigned Quick Charge 2.0 model fixes that fatal flaw for just $11.

That’s a great price for any Quick Charge car charger, but Nonda’s has some features you won’t find anywhere else. Most notably, it connects to your phone over Bluetooth, and every time the connection drops (meaning your car has turned off), a free app will make a note of your location so you can find your parking spot later.

That app will also tell you the health of your car battery so you can get it replaced before you end up stranded, and it can even track your mileage for tax and expensing purposes (free for 60 drives per month, $3/month or $30/year for unlimited).

Giant battery packs are great in some situations, but more often than not, you just need something that can fit in your pocket and give you a single extra phone charge, or maybe a bit more. That’s exactly what you can get today for $10 with promo code KINJA060.

Humble’s mostly known for selling games, but their new software bundle isn’t playing around.

10 Windows, Mac, and Linux apps are spread across three different price tiers, the most expensive of which will only set you back $15 (unless you feel like donating more). Highlights include Fences, an awesome window management app for Windows, Deskscapes, which adorns your monitor with great new wallpapers, and WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe, which does exactly what you’d expect.

That’s just scratching the surface though, so head over to Humble to see the full list. If there’s even one app in there that you’re interested in, it’s probably worth it.

VPNs are in the news these days, and with good reason. So if you’re curious to sign up and start protecting your browsing history and personal data (or, you know, getting around websites’geoblocks), NordVPN charges less per month than a typical trip to Starbucks.

NordVPN has long been one of the most popular and reliable VPN providers out there, and if you sign up for a one-year membership, promo code VIP70 will drop your annual price from $69 to $48. If you’re sure you want to commit, use this link instead to get a special two year plan for $79 with code 2YSpecial2017. Lifehacker has recommended Nord in some previous guides, but if you have any firsthand experience with the service, sound off in the comments!

Top Home Deals

The weather’s going to cool down soon (right? right!?) and the leaves will start falling, but you can make your lawn maintenance routine a little bit easier with a pair of great deals today.

First up, Amazon’s promoting a Hitachi gas-powered leaf blower for $97, down from its usual $120-$130. Despite weighing only 8.6 pounds, it can push out air at up to 170 mph, so your lawn detritus won’t stand a chance.

While you’re at it, it’s never a bad time to buy a good garden cart. This one can haul 400 pounds, and you can collapse any or all of its side walls if you need to carry things that won’t quite fit inside. $47 is an all-time low, and about $18 less than usual.

If you missed out on your chance to save on Halloween candy last week (or if you already ate it all), Amazon’s once again taking 20% off a wide variety of Nestle Halloween packs, including both fruity and chocolatey options. Just remember that you won’t see the discount until checkout.

The holidays are just around the corner, and if you don’t have the time to get your house spotless before you start hosting guests, Amazon’s here to help.

For a limited time, if you book a deep cleaning from Amazon Home Services, you’ll get $30 off at checkout. It’s as simple as that. Every deep cleaning service includes the following:

  • Includes deep cleaning of all rooms in your home
  • Bathroom vanity, tub, and toilet cleaning
  • Kitchen counters, floor, and range/cooktop cleaning
  • Washing all window interiors and countertops (walls not included)
  • Trash removal to your outdoor cans
  • Pro will provide cleaning supplies

You can also add the inside of your fridge and the insides of your kitchen cabinets for an additional fee.

After you complete your purchase, you can book the service for any time in the next 90 days, so you’ll be able to time it up with any fancy soirees or tension-filled Thanksgiving political debates you’re hosting this holiday season.

Before you know it, it’ll be time to get started on holiday decorating, but you can save money, not to mention time, by taking advantage of Amazon’s Star Shower Motion deal.

If you aren’t familiar, these genius little gadgets use lasers to project red and green lights onto the front of your house, giving the appearance of holiday spirit without the hassle of actually hanging up outdoor lights. We’ve seen a few deals lately on similar products, but this is the original, as-seen-on-TV Star Shower that started the trend a few years ago, and it’s never been cheaper.

This Calphalon nonstick square griddle pan is perfect to make pancakes, tortillas, eggs, quesadillas, and toast sandwiches.

It’s usually priced at $40, but you can grab one today for $31. You have to hurry before this deal is toast.

If your dog is lacking in table manners, this nifty invention could help reduce the number of times you have to pick up soggy kibble off the floor.

The bowl’s higher walls will help keep food and water from flinging around too much, and it also features a strainer that will pull water down into the drip tray, but keep food dry on top.

Normally selling for $45+, at $35, it’s at a price we can all wag our tails at.

It may not be a YETI, but it does have wheels. This Coleman cooler can hold up to 84 cans, claims to keep ice for up to 5 days, and is, of course, a portable seat with cup holders - all necessary features for the best tailgating experience. Plus, it’s about $10 less than usual today.

If you’re looking at getting into sewing or upgrade your current machine, this Singer Heavy Duty machine might do the trick. It normally sells for around $140, but today is being offered at $118. It’s not the lowest price, but it is the lowest we’ve seen since early August.

It sews 1,100 stitches per minute, with 23 built-in stitches it, with buttonhole and decorative options. Unfortunately for this Amazon reviewer, it doesn’t make dresses by itself.

Robotic vacuums are so cheap and ubiquitous now, it almost makes sense to start building a fleet of them.

While it lacks the brand recognition of a Roomba, and we can’t personally vouch for them like we can for the Eufy RoboVac 11, this ILIFE A4S vacuum has very good reviews, and is insanely affordable today at $150 with promo code CZZKA6AX. Now you’ll have more time to clean the bathroom!

<Knocks on your front door>

Golly, what a lovely home you have, could I interest you fine folks in some steak knives?

You know those “Magic Erasers” that can wipe stains off seemingly any surface? They’re really just melamine sponges with a marketing budget, and you can get 100 off-brand equivalents for just $12 on Amazon. I used these after moving into a new apartment a few months ago, and they made quick work of all of the scuffs I made on the walls.

We’ve seen 100-packs for less before, but those usually ship from China and don’t arrive until weeks or months later. But this $12 pack is in an Amazon warehouse right now, and is eligible for Prime shipping.

If you’re ready to dive into the Philips Hue ecosystem, the third generation starter kit is down to $148 right now (shipped and sold by Amazon directly), one of the best prices we’ve seen, complete with three bulbs and a hub.

If you have an Echo voice assistant already, this is one of the coolest accessories out there that it works with. Once you start controlling your lights with your voice, there’s no going back.

You might not need a multimeter very often, but for $8, it’s not a bad idea to add one to your toolbox. It sure beats getting electrocuted!

Inflatable travel pillows are more space efficient than their memory foam counterparts, but most require you to use your mouth to inflate them, which, gross. Planes and airports are disgusting.

But this Jerrybox pillow only asks you to squeeze the two bumps on the front. Get it to your desired firmness, close the air holes, and settle in for a slightly less terrible economy class sleeping experience.

A cool gift for a book lover in your life, this rechargeable wooden book light is just $24 today with KCNIJ46K.

A concept popularized on Shark Tank, this Magicfly version is way cheaper than the $200 original. It closes up like book, making it portable, and shines warm white light for a full 8 hours.

Even if your car has tire pressure monitoring built in, it’s likely a binary system: Either your tires are fine, or they need air. But even a slight amount of under-inflation can shorten a tire’s lifespan, so a more precise monitoring system can pay for itself over time.

This one from Yokaro includes four wireless transmitters and a receiver with a built-in solar panel, so you don’t even have to plug it into your car’s DC outlet (though you can if you need to). You’ll see a real-time PSI reading for all four tires, so you’ll know when it’s time to top them up. Use promo code 3V8G277O to get it for $72.

My cat is an indoor cat and terrified of the outdoors. But if she ever wanted to venture outside, I would feel better buying something like this to give her a warm, dry safe haven if she ever needed it.

The Kitty House features heated and unheated options with sturdy roof to wick away any rain. Plus, it has different color options for kitties with discerning taste. Of course, indoor cats like warm, dark places too, just don’t expect this purchase to make them love you.

One of the only downsides of cast iron pans is that they can be a nightmare to clean, but this chainmail scrubber can scrape away caked-on food without hurting your seasoning, or resorting to soap. No wonder one of them is in our bestsellers club. Today’s $7 deal also happens to be the best price we’ve ever seen on one of these.

For a limited time, Dyson’s eBay outlet is taking an extra 25% off any $50 order with promo code P25DYSONOUTLET, including vacuums, fans, and even hair dryers. Most of the wares here are refurbished, but they’re sold directly by Dyson; this isn’t a sketchy third party situation.

My pick is the V6 animal for $172. I bought this thing a couple months ago, and it makes quick work of all the pet hair on our furniture.

It’s not exactly a YETI or an RTIC, but it’s tough to complain about a $14 cooler that can keep ice frozen for up to 24 hours in 90 degree heat. With room for up to 30 cans, this’ll be a great addition to your tailgating setup. Today’s price is a solid $6 less than usual.

If you live in a city with Amazon Prime Now, but haven’t yet tried it, you can save $10 on your first order with promo code 10PRIMENOW.

All you have to do is build a cart with at least $20 worth of eligible goods from Amazon, and enter that code at checkout to get the deal. I’ve literally built Prime Now orders in the past that consisted of nothing but ice cream and junk food, but they recently added a selection of healthier stuff from Whole Foods as well, so you should have no trouble taking advantage.

Just remember that this deal is only available in cities with Prime Now service, and only first time Prime Now customers are eligible.

Everyone needs at least a handful of no-show socks in their drawer, and you can get six pairs for just $12 today on Amazon (with promo code H548MN68), down from the usual $15.

It’s about time you do some cleaning out of your drawers. Get rid of those laundry-day-only undies in favor of something you’ll actually like wearing. Aerie is giving you 8 undies for only $29, no code needed, which is kind of insane seeing as they usually sell them for $12+.

If your lighter runs out of fuel (or if its battery dies), you’ll still be able to start a fire with this flint and steel five-pack, now just $7. In the 21st century, this probably isn’t the easiest way to stoke a flame, but it works in any weather, and will make you feel like Bear Grylls, which is worth something.

Philips’ entry-level Sonicare Essence electric toothbrush has long been a reader favorite, and now Amazon’s running the best deal we’ve seen on the sequel, the Essence+.

The big improvement here is the brush head: Rather than the screw-on E-series heads (which have a tendency to collect sludge along the seam), the Essence+ uses standard Sonicare snap-on heads. The upshot is that you get a lot more choices: Philips sells seven different options for different budgets and brushing styles.

For a limited time, Amazon’s taking $10 off the brush’s $35 price tag. We’ve seen this $10 coupon before, but it’s usually subtracting from a $40 starting price. Just note that you won’t see the final price until checkout.

I’m a huge fan of Too Faced, and I feel that this is a brand everyone should try at least once. Even if you’re a Too Faced vet, this 25% off sale is perfect you too. Use the code REDHOT25 and everything (except sale items) gets 25% taken off, so don’t be shy. Stock up on Better Than Sex mascara and Melted Matte lipstick while you can, or try out their adorable new Peaches and Cream collection.

This time Amazon’s back at it with home, personal care, beauty & grooming, vitamins, baby, and beverages & food samples.

If you haven’t bought Amazon samples before, let me explain. You purchase samples and then Amazon gives you an equivalent credit that you can then use to towards a whole bunch of different products in that same product category. For example, buy a $2 granola bar, you have $2 in credit

If you normally shop Amazon for anything in these categories, it’s basically free samples.

Jumping rope is one of the most time and space-efficient ways to get in a decent workout, and you can pick up an adjustable length rope with ball bearings for just $10 with promo code TOMY5167.

This 30-DVD collection includes all the classics like original Dracula, Frankenstein, She-Wolf of London, The Mummy, and much more at the grave-digger price of $50.

Grab your copy before it grabs you.

Wonder Woman was the rarest of all things: A good DC Comics film. You can own it forever via Amazon Instant Video for just $10 right now, if you’re a Prime member. Go watch and enjoy it before Justice League ruins everything again.

Shopping for a Jurassic Park fan (or yourself) this holiday season? All four films (including the semi-recent Jurassic World) are down to just $24 in one awesome Blu-ray set, complete with two discs full of bonus features.

The Dark Tower was a very bad movie, but don’t let that turn you off of the excellent books. Download the first two to your Kindle for just $3 each today.

Note: This link only seems to work on desktop browsers, sorry!

If you own a 4K Blu-ray player (or an Xbox One S), here’s one of the best deals we’ve seen for building up your movie library. Just pick any three films out of the 145 on this Amazon page, and no matter what they cost individually, you’ll only pay $50 at checkout (so long as they’re all shipped and sold by Amazon directly). Most of them also include regular Blu-ray discs, and digital copies too.

My picks, based on both quality of the film and how much they’d benefit from a 4K upgrade: The Martian, Mad Max Fury Road, and Star Trek, though I could be talked into Ex Machina.

In what I assume is recompense for all the horrible movies we’ve been subjected to recently (Wonder Woman excluded), a whole bunch of digital DC comics are free right now on Amazon. There’s no catch, no membership requirement, and no limit to how many you can download.

If you like to read, and aren’t opposed to doing it on an electronic device of some sort, here’s your no-brainer deal of the day. Humble’s latest bundle features two dozen DRM-free ebooks, and you can get them all for as little as $18, or some for just $1.

These aren’t books you’d find in the budget bin at the bookstore either. The list includes classics like Octavia Butler’s Dawn, John Brunner’s Shockwave Rider and All My Sins Remembered by Joe Haldeman.

As always with Humble Bundles, the titles are locked behind a few different price tiers, but you can pay whatever you want, and a portion of the proceeds will go to charity.

Amazon always offers a free one-month trial of its Audible audiobook service, but for a limited time, they’re also tossing in two free book credits to sweeten the pot . That’s in addition to the book you normally get with the trial, and each credit is valid for any title in the Audible library. The best part? The books you choose are yours to keep, even if you cancel the trial before it renews.

Just note that this deal is only valid for new Audible members only.

Top Gaming Deals

Ghost Recon Wildlands isn’t without its flaws, but it’s a massive game that should keep you busy for awhile, and Amazon’s already knocked it down to $30 today, the best price we’ve seen.

$8 is cheaper than a lot of standard sized mouse pads, but today, that gets you a massive 2.5' x 1' model that can accommodate your keyboard as well. So luxurious! Just be sure to use promo code MCDZX686 at checkout to save a couple bucks.

Super Mario Odyssey is only about two weeks away, and here’s a friendly reminder that if you have Amazon Prime, you can preorder it for $12 off(discount shown at checkout). This deal is valid up until release day, but Amazon’s been known to sell out of preorders of popular Nintendo games in the past, so it might behoove you to place your order early.

You can also preorder a Switch bundle with exclusive Joy-Con, and the game included.

Humble’s newest bundle is filled with RPGs that will give you hours upon hours of enjoyment. Each price tier is highlighted by a Borderlands game, but several lesser-known titles are included as well.

What’s your favorite game of the bunch? Let us know in the comments!
