Donald Trump

Donald Trump is one of the few entertainment figures who have parlayed success on screen into high political office, in his case, the presidency of the United States.

Trump began his career in his family's New York real estate business. In the early 2000s, he was approached by Survivor producer Mark Burnett about being a part of a new kind of reality format in which contestants competed to become the real estate developer's mentee. Thus, The Apprentice was born.

With Trump behind the desk, the show ran from 2004-2015 and spawned eight seasons of The Celebrity Apprentice on NBC. Ratings for the initial seasons of the show were huge, but steadily declined.

In 2015, the reality TV host announced he was running for president and, in doing so, made controversial comments about immigrants. In the aftermath, NBC said it would part ways with Trump. Both Univision and NBC also dropped the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, which NBCU had co-owned with Trump.

He had cameos in dozens of movies and TV shows throughout the years, including Home Alone 2, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, The Nanny, Spin City and Wrestlemania.
